The Central Gulf of Mexico Ocean Observing System (CenGOOS) is a component observing system within the Gulf of Mexico Coastal Ocean Observing System Regional Association. CenGOOS is operated by the Department of Marine Science at The University of Southern Mississippi.

What's New:
"A lightning strike on August 12, 2011 damaged the receive antenna at Henderson Beach State Park. On September 7, 2011 the receive antenna at Signing River Island was taken down and redeployed at Henderson Beach State Park and the damaged antenna was shipped to CODAR OS for repairs.
The Globalstar modem on the USM buoy has failed and a replacement is on order."
